The Ram

With Aries as your Sun Sign

With the Sun in the cardinal fire sign of Aries, you will appear to people as outgoing and self-assertive. You have an energetic approach to life, and a frank and direct approach to others. You can show a great deal of courage and a willingness to plunge into anything without too much hesitation. Sometimes giving things a little thought before you leap would be in order. You have a basic need to establish your self-identity in the face of any potentially hostile environment, and may view life as battle that must be fought and won, an attitude that will ensure plenty of confrontations. You can be too impulsive and blind to the needs and feelings of others, but your extrovert and aggressive approach to life is often a compensation for a deep insecurity over who you really are.

With Aries as your Ascendant

With the cardinal fire sign of Aries rising at the time of your birth, you will approach life directly and forcefully. You  will have a need to be noticed, for people to accept you as you are. As a result, your manner may at times be rather abrupt and often upsetting to others. You may feel that life is a battle  which needs to be fought to win and you will not  have little or no tolerance for people who stand in the way of you getting what you want.

You can adapt easily to any situation and of course those strong extrovert qualities will always make a big impression on others. You tend to be a “live wire”, full of physical energy and enthusiasm. You are always up for taking on a challenge, but you will need to  temper your energy with some consideration for others who may be less enthusiastic, if you want to achieve some balance and harmony in your relationships. Saying that, those with Aries rising do have a great need to be involved in an emotional relationship & the Arian spirit needs not only to relate but also to be fair and equitable to the partner.

Aries rules the head and those with Aries rising may suffer more than their fair share of headaches or possibly eyestrain, especially when they are feeling stressed.

As Aries is ruled by Mars the house position and aspects to this planet will be of particular importance in your chart.

January 2018 for Aries Ascendant

These predictions have been written to fit your Ascendant sign, and that is dependent not only on the day your were born but also the time that you were born as well as the place of your birth.

Ok, so Aries Ascendants, what does 2018 hold in store for you? Well it's natural to starting with the outer planets and how they are affecting you in general and this is a summary of where they are moving before I move on to a more detailed chronological look at the year ahead.

Overview - The Sun and Venus are in Capricorn as we start this year and Mercury joins them in this sign on 11th January and there is a general focus on career matters. Between 18th and 20th January both the Sun and Venus shift into Aquarius and as they do your values and ideas move over to more collaborative and social concerns. Mercury follows on behind moving into Aquarius on the last day of the month.

Mars generally dictates where our actions and motivations are directed to, and we find it as we begin the year in your house of change and control alongside Jupiter, therefore you will be find these two planets controlling your agenda early on as matters of debt, money owed, investments, power, control and your intimate life will take on importance in January.

You'll be willing to take a risk in these sectors of life on around 8th of the month with Jupiter conjunct to Mars but be careful not to overstretch yourself. Jupiter forms a sextile to Pluto a week later and this aspect will allow you to gain more control of your intimate life or over matters linked to anything shared, also watch out of an over-controlling boss trying to take advantage of you; this aspect will be exact on and around 16th January.

On the 17th January there is a 150 degree quincunx between Mars and Uranus, and this may see you having to adjust your ideas quite sharply in regard to someone or something that tries to control you in some manner, either financially or in a more manipulative and unexpected way. You'll have to remain nimble and adjust your attitudes to deal with the sudden change of rules that you are being asked to adhere to. You will react, however try and keep your irritation to a minimum.

Mars moves into Sagittarius on the 26th and the focus will shift towards learning and expanding your knowledge and belief systems. Now and in the next two months you will start to defend your beliefs more and stand up against anyone who starts to doubt you. This transit also could bring legal issues your way or matters to do with in-laws. This part of your chart is also linked to matters of culture, travel and higher education as well as publishing your work to a broader audience. You'll be eager to learn and spread your wings, so grab any opportunities to improve your knowledge and skills with both hands.

On the 31st January we have the first of five eclipses this year, a lunar eclipse in Leo to start things off. This eclipse will highlight matters of your individual creative potential, love and casual relationships, hobbies, out of work activities and children. Any one of these matters will be subject to emotional change in the following few months.
